Phew

It's Friday, holy cow. I thought it would never come, and I keep forgetting that it is, and then remembering and being like "YES. Phew."

Next week will probably be about the same. P: CRT testing on my one A-day that I don't have an AP test? Sheesh.

I think I told Madison about the magical package I got recently from Smiths, but no one else.

Well. We got this colorful package, black with bright green polka dots and pink ends, but no label past that it was from Smiths. Oooh, mystery! :D My brother was all excited about opening it up too, so I let him open it with me.

Well, until we opened one side and an ad fell out. I was like, "Oh, I know what this is."

Pads and tampons, from this new brand called U.

Well... I was on Wajas and Tennis posted a rave about what...? Tampon commercials. Well, heck, I had to check them out and lol, it was U again.

Well... it's a sure thing now.

I know I've mentioned to a few people that Raleigh disappeared last Wednesday. Well... today our neighbors found him and gave us a call. He was dead, lying in the creek.

Although we've had Raleigh for nearly thirteen years, it really isn't hitting me all that hard. We all knew he was dying, we all expected him to die earlier than he did. I've been reconciled to the idea for long enough that I guess now that it's actually happened, it isn't hitting me very hard. I've felt plenty of times that we should have just put him down. He had bad arthritis, tumors everywhere, was starting to go blind, and he was just, well... old. He's been dying for months: losing weight, sleeping more, eating less... but he's always seemed so happy despite that we've just been waiting for things to take their natural course.

Him drowning in a creek is definitely not the best way for him to pass away, but he's in a better place. And even though he's dead, I'm really glad we know that he is now, and have him back. We buried him over by Chester and Neil, and it's funny... where he was in the creek was right by the grave of his dad.

So it's snake breeding season right now, and it is *so* sad/funny some of the posts that are turning up on the Corn Snakes forum I like to hang out on. Tons of people are suddenly freaking out and posting, "My female just laid eggs! I didn't know she was pregnant, what do I do?"

My favorite, I think, is this one person who said she had a male and female snake, but they were siblings so she didn't think they would breed. They did though, and now she's got eggs to deal with.

Um... I really don't think snakes care if they're related. If you have a male and female together (of any sort of animal really) during breeding season, they're gonna mate. It's kind of sad that some people don't realize that.

Heck, this isn't snake related, but it does have to do with animal mating stuff. We've been taking Bonnie and Spider over to our neighbors pasture to eat the last few days, and he has a big gelding (male horse that can't breed). Apparently Bonnie's in heat, because even though Fox can't mate with her, he was getting all excited and they spent the entire afternoon with their heads over the fence flirting with each other. xD

Obviously, animals do not care, no matter the restrictions we might expect them to have.

I'm sorry, I think this is my third post in one day. But I have just been... finding funny stuff, I guess. :P Funny to me, at least.

It's hard to even guess how many times I've had that "Watcha thinkin' about?" "Nothin'" conversation with my brothers. xD I can't really see my dad getting out his nothing box... but I'm sure he does. It's how he falls asleep watching tv every night, I suppose.

I'm good without one though.

Stuck in Norway

My Uncle Dale went on a business trip to Norway not long ago (he works for Microsoft, which apparently all comes from there... which makes sense I guess because Norway is excessively rich). He was supposed to come back last week but then... yeah, some volcano in Iceland exploded and no one's getting out of Europe.

We don't know when he's getting back. He has a flight rescheduled for Monday, but he doesn't think it'll actually leave. My mom wants to call up some cousins we have in Oslo (which is where Dale is), but then my dad reminded her that he's on a business trip, so Microsoft is paying for him, and he went in a group of fifteen. We can't just leave the rest of them out. :P

So that's not happening, but it doesn't really matter. The point of this blog is a conversation I had with Michelle (his daughter, she's like... 3). I was like, "So, you're dad's stuck in Norway. Do you know where Norway is?"

"Well... it's kinda by Heber, behind Africa, and maybe a little close to Aus-Aus...Ausatria."
