Maybe we should have just stuck with hanging people. Back in the day the whole town would come out and have a party every time they did that. It was the highlight of every little boy's life to see someone do 'the jig'.
Or we could draw and quarter them, shoot 'em six times, behead them (wouldn't that be fun to watch a guillotine? They live for 13 seconds after their heads are cut off!), spin 'em on a wheel and throw knives at them, crucify them...
So many ways of killing that were practically failproof. Now they can't kill someone because they can't find a good vein to inject some poison into. Do you know how many drug-addicted rapist-murderers there are out there who are running so low on veins to stick drugs into that they can't recieve a death penalty? A lot more than we have space for in our prisons. What joy.
This idea of giving killers a 'kind death' just throws me, I'm sure the people they killed didn't get such a nice passing.
Not to mention the drugs just to knock felons out are expensive, why spend an extra mound of money on the lethal drugs too when an axe is so much quicker, cheaper, and trustworthy?
People just make no sense nowadays.
Good heavens, I need to stop reading news and books.

Oh my goodness. And here I thought that I had violence problems. I mean, that article was weird, but the way you just came right out and said, "we should just hang people still" i mean, where did that come from??? Overall, it was a very entertaining post. :)
ReplyDeleteI really don't like any of those, but I figure if you're going to give someone a death sentence, you oughta be able to kill them, and not waste money on it either.
ReplyDeleteI did have a good time writing it though. xD It was fun imagining what people's reactions would be.
Well, congratulations. My reaction was all like "Mary!" (shockified).
